Retail Counter Plants For Outdoormania

Outdoormania is planning a retail counter at its new Holmfirth head office premises. If successful, the retail counter will extend on the company’s call and collect service to allow Internet customers to browse accessories and ancillary items to supplement their Internet orders.

The retail counter fits in with the company’s policy of continually improving services to on-line customers. If successful, the plans to develop a retail counter will run alongside those to offer one to one consultations to Internet customers in order enable them to make informed choice before purchasing ski clothing, outdoor wear, hiking foot wear and camping equipment.

“Internet business these days is much more about customer service than price alone,” said Outdoormania managing director Sara Longden. “In view of this, our mill building on Dunford Road, Holmfirth, was acquired to house our growing Internet warehousing and distribution business but also enable us to improve our service to customers. Specifically this is about providing higher levels of customer service through one to one consultations, enlarged customer services telephone teams and customer fitting and collection.

“If plans are successful, the proposed new retail counter, will provide our Internet customers with a further service; namely to pick and choose accessories and ancillary items to complement and supplement their Internet purchase.”

Outdoormania, which also runs skiwear and ski clothing website Skimania and camping equipment and tent website Campmania, recently re-located to the new 15,000 sq. ft. mill building after outgrowing its former premises, also in Holmfirth.

If plans go ahead for the locality, it is also hoped that the retail counter will also serve the residents of Holmfirth. Plans also include the re-opening of the cafe to service customers who are travelling from afar for one to one technical consultations.

Outdoormania Bolsters Customer Service Team

Outdoormania has hust brought in two of the best customer girls in the business! Linzi Brooker (32) and Victoria Keyy (25) both join Outdoormania to stengthen the customer services team. They both join from large customer services teams in top Yorkshire call centres.

"It's fair to say that our teams were a little swamped during the height of the ski season last year,"" commented Outdoormania MD Sara Longden. "We are determined it will not happen again. The dual appointment and the fact that our customer service system is much, much improved over last year will ensure this."

Both Linzi and Victoria completed skiwear training to familiarise themselves with brands and technical knowledge. They are already operational within the team.

New Footwear Division

Thanks to new partnerships with some of the most respected names in footwear, Outdoormania is currently launching a footwear division. Building on its links with existing footwear suppliers including Gelert, Trespass and Regatta, Outdoormania has recently secured distribution deals with Salomon and Merrell. The developments provide Outdoormania with a solid base to further develop a solid dedicated footwear offering. Further arrangements with other key brands are expected soon.

Call and Collect

We have just set up a call and collect service at our Dunford Road mill. For those who are nearby or for those who are happy to travel in order to check their sizing, the mill has fitting rooms and obviously the full stock of the 2011 skiwear range. If you'd like to take advantage of the service, call our sales line between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday to arrange an appointment. The service is particularly useful to groups and we have the room to accommodate large parties for school ski trips etc.

New Skiwear Range

Well with snow in the Alps already, it looks like we are in for another great season. At Outdoormania, we have just finished listing our new 2011 skiwear range.
